Try Something New

Try Something New

Do one thing every day that scares you.
-Eleanor Roosevelt

When was the last time you tried something new? The last time you broke out of your comfort zone? I’m not talking about that time you had your coffee with one sugar instead of two, or when you used Hailo instead of Addison Lee the other night.

I’m talking, of course about the bedroom.

Pablo Picasso, one of the most accomplished artists of our time, was once quoted as saying, ‘I am always doing things I can’t do – that’s how I get to do them.’
And he’s right. How can one ever expect to become an artist in the bedroom, without pushing oneself to the very outer corners of one’s own limitations?

As anyone will testify who’s ever done something that at first feels uncomfortable, it all works out for the best. Talking dirty didn’t come so easy at first, did it? But you love it now. The first time you did a strip tease? Or when you experimented with a little game of tie-me-up? Or tried a brew of ayahuasca with the Shaman of the Peruvian Mountains? (Maybe that’s just me…)

It may feel weird at first, but it’s worth it in the end, my dears.

And the same thing can be said for your underwear. If you’re a dyed-in-the-wool black lace kind of girl, why not give blue satin a go?

Always in thongs? See what happens when you try a sheer-bottomed knicker.

Once, I even wore three bras at once. The upheaval was slightly uncomfortable, yes, but the results opened my eyes (and the eyes of every single man in the restaurant where I was dining) to new wonders.

Go on, try something new and become master of your own destiny.

It worked for Picasso; it worked for the Peruvian shaman, and it sure as hell worked for me.
